Police Arrest Suspected Burglar in Nakuru, Recover Stolen TVs and Ammunition

Detectives in Nakuru County have arrested a man believed to be behind a string of house break-ins in Tabuga and its environs. Officers recovered stolen household items and ammunition during the operation.

According to a statement from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), officers from Githioro Police Station acted on intelligence and raided the house of 27-year-old Calvin Okoli Ndimu in Free Area. A search of the house turned up items believed to have been stolen during a spate of burglaries reported in the area over the past two months.

Among the items recovered were two 43-inch television sets, two TV stands, three subwoofers, and assorted clothing, bedding and footwear. Officers also found a pair of Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) jungle trousers, a homemade toy gun, and one live round and blank ammunition of calibre 7.62×51mm. Police say most of the recovered items have already been positively identified by their rightful owners.

Investigations are ongoing to establish the full extent of the suspect's alleged criminal activities and whether he is linked to other reported cases. The suspect remains in custody and is undergoing processing ahead of arraignment.

Residents of Tabuga and Free Area are urged to keep their homes secure and report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station.
