ODM Leaders in Teso North Ask Governor Otuoma to Work With Elected Officials Only

ODM party officials in Teso North Sub-County, Busia County, want Governor Paul Otuoma to deal only with party officials who were elected through the proper process. They warned him against engaging people who are going around claiming to be ODM leaders.

The message came from a meeting held at the ODM offices in Teso North. The leaders were led by Sub-County Chairman David Otini and Women League Representative Flora Kitui. They said the party needs to know who its real officials are so that it can make decisions and run its activities properly.

The leaders also called for unity, discipline and open communication between party officials and the county leadership. In their view, good cooperation is the only way to grow the party in the area and stop divisions from coming up within it.

They also asked that the ODM Constitution and the party structure be followed to the letter. According to them, any parallel structure that starts sending its own messages and undermines the official leadership should not be allowed to continue.

As things stand, the leaders want the county government and party officials in Teso North to sit down together, sort out the confusion, and involve the legitimate officials in party activities and development matters.
