A well-known British-Nigerian businessman and social media influencer has died after undergoing a Penis Enlargement procedure during what was meant to be a relaxing luxury getaway in Thailand.
Igho "Tiny" Ubiribo, who was 43 years old, had traveled to Bangkok with his wife Danielle Simba Allen for what turned out to be a tragic trip. The entrepreneur, who boasted a substantial following of about 185,000 people on Instagram, underwent the risky medical procedure at a private clinic in March.
According to details revealed during an inquest at Inner West London Coroners' Court, medical staff injected a total of 40 millilitres of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine into his body during the cosmetic enhancement procedure. What started as an attempt to improve his appearance would ultimately lead to a fatal complication.
After the procedure was completed, Igho and his wife went directly to a massage facility to relax. However, things quickly took a turn for the worse. While receiving the massage, he began complaining of severe chest pain and eventually collapsed on two separate occasions. Realizing the severity of his condition, his wife rushed him to Sukhumvit Hospital for emergency medical care.
At the hospital, doctors diagnosed Igho with a pulmonary embolism, which is a serious condition where a blood clot becomes lodged in an artery that supplies blood to the lungs. Medical professionals immediately launched into emergency response, performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for more than 100 minutes in an attempt to save his life. Despite their extensive efforts, Igho sadly passed away during the early morning hours of March 6.
A post-mortem examination conducted back in the United Kingdom revealed troubling findings. Pathologists discovered cellular material in his lungs that matched the hyaluronic acid that had been used during his cosmetic procedure. This discovery provided critical evidence linking the injection to his death.
Following the investigation, Coroner Jean Harkin formally ruled that Igho died as a result of a pulmonary embolism that was directly caused by the cosmetic procedure he had undergone.
Before his untimely death, Igho was widely recognized for his extravagant lifestyle, which he frequently showcased on social media. His funeral reflected his status and wealth he was laid to rest in London in a reported gold-plated coffin valued at approximately $745,000. The ceremony attracted several prominent Nigerian celebrities, including popular musicians Davido and Cubana Chief Priest, who came to pay their final respects.
This tragic incident serves as a sobering reminder of the potential risks associated with cosmetic procedures, particularly when undertaken at unregulated or less-established medical facilities abroad.
