NCIC Investigation Widens: Busia Governor Among Top Political Leaders Under Scrutiny

The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has intensified its crackdown on inflammatory speech, with Busia County Governor Dr. Paul Otuoma now among five senior political leaders facing investigation for their recent public statements.

According to a statement from BUSIA Border RADIO, Dr. Otuoma is the latest high-profile political figure to come under the NCIC's watchful eye over concerns about divisive remarks that could threaten national unity. The move signals a harder line from the commission in dealing with leaders who stray from responsible communication.

The investigation does not spare other prominent officials either. Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale, Public Service CS Geoffrey Ruku, and Siria MP John Waluke are also among those who have recently faced action from the NCIC.

Additionally, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has been caught up in the same net of investigations regarding alleged inflammatory statements.

This development comes as a stark reminder to leaders across the country about their responsibility to uphold the constitution and respect the values that hold the nation together. The message is clear: regardless of political position, no one is above the law when it comes to incitement and divisive rhetoric.

The NCIC's actions underscore the growing concern among governance bodies about maintaining national cohesion, especially in a politically charged environment.

Leaders are being called upon to measure their words carefully and consider the broader impact of their public statements on national stability.

As the investigations continue, observers say this serves as a wake-up call for the entire political class about the importance of responsible leadership and national unity.
