Omtatah Fires Back at Otuoma: ‘Show Me the Evidence’

Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah has finally broken his silence after days of heated accusations from Governor Paul Otuoma. The governor had claimed that the senator is the one behind stalled development projects in the county, and that Otuoma is secretly backing former governor Sospeter Ojaamong to kick him out in the 2027 elections.

But Omtatah hit back with a simple but tough challenge. He said he has heard the county leadership repeat the same story over and over again, that he is using court cases to stop progress. Now he wants proof.

“I have heard Busia County leadership repeatedly claim that I have stopped development projects through court action. Today, I challenge them: produce the evidence,” Omtatah said.

The senator did not stop there. He made it clear that he is tired of being blamed without a single document to back up the claims. According to Omtatah, if there is any court order that he has personally pushed to block roads, hospitals, or markets, then let the governor release the papers.

Omtatah, known for his fearless court battles on public interest matters, did not look like a man who is scared. He told the county leadership to stop wasting time and instead focus on serving the wananchi who are waiting for water, good roads, and better healthcare.
